InTouch Prevention Service Area 18

InTouch (Illinois Network to Organize the Understanding of Community Health) is a management system comprised of 18 regional agencies, each responsible for a specific geographic area called a Prevention Service Area (PSA). InTouch serves as a point of coordination for Comprehensive Programs and other community institutions (e.g. faith community, schools, government) addressing substance abuse prevention and related risk factors. Coordination efforts are provided through technical assistance, coalition building, making appropriate referrals, and facilitating partnerships in order to increase the use of evidence-based practices, maximize resources and reduce duplication of prevention services in their Prevention Service Area. The InTouch system is funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services(DHS); Division of Community Health and Prevention (DCHP); Bureau of Community-Based and Primary Prevention (BCPP); Substance Abuse Prevention Program (SAPP). InTouch PSA 18 provides service to the southern 13 counties of Illinois which encompasses Perry, Jackson, Franklin, Williamson, Saline, Gallatin, Union, Pope, Hardin, Johnson, Alexander, Pulaski, and Massac. Services provided must be consistent with the goals and standards established by the DHS Bureau of Community-Based and Primary Prevention as outlined in the annual InTouch work plan and contract conditions.
