Homeless-Bridges to Opening Doors - IARSS Area 6

The McKinney-Vento Federal program benefits homeless children in Franklin and Williamson Counties. The Federal grant provides trainings and current legislation and materials from Opening Doors and the ISBE to district homeless liaisons in the two counties, as well as all of area 6 in Southern Illinois. The Regional Office of Education also acts as ombudsman for dispute resolutions involving homeless students and school districts. The program networks to find resources for school supplies, clothing and many other items required for homeless children to regularly attend school.
